Margy Lin is the Co-founder and President, responsible for overseeing operations and development strategies at the firm. Her broad experience as an investor in international markets and fundraising informs her client-centric approach to business strategy.

With over two decades of expertise in international investment laws, private fund investments, financial product structuring, and asset liability analysis, Margy provides exceptional value to Halcyon Investment Advisor.

Before launching Halcyon, Margy served as the General Manager of Alpha Helix Asset Management in Taipei, Taiwan. She specialized in family business consulting and investment research, developing strong connections with ultra-high-net-worth individuals across Asia. Prior to starting her own companies, she was the General Counsel at Nan Shan Life Insurance, managing a $15 billion asset portfolio and focusing on legal and compliance risks.

Margy began her career as an associate at Taiwan’s top law firm, Lee & Li, and then worked at China Development Industrial Bank, where she played a key role in fundraising and investment for major technology companies. She graduated from National Taiwan University and holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, she is a Fellow in the Life Management Institute (FLMI).

I Jung Hsiao is a co-founder and Chief Investment Officer, leveraging his two decades of experience in investment research and portfolio management to lead the firm's investment strategies.

His expertise spans equities, fixed income, and options, consistently generating steady returns through a blend of qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Prior to Halcyon, I Jung Hsiao led a multi-asset class team at Taiwan's second-largest insurance company, overseeing a $4 billion USD portfolio. His commitment to first principles thinking empowers him to continuously innovate investment techniques and strategies.

I Jung Hsiao holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's degree in Financial Engineering, both from National Chiao Tung University. This quantitative background strengthens his systematic decision-making process, fostering an investment style that prioritizes risk management.

Joelian Tseng is the Senior Equity Strategist, leveraging her strength in equity fundamental research and investment to guide the firm's equity strategies.

Joelian brings more than 25 years of experience in equity research and investment, including roles as Head of Equity Investment at Nan Shan Life and Taiwan Equity Research Head at Deutsche Securities (Asia) and CL Securities Taiwan.

She has excelled in identifying secular growth trends through extensive research, coupled with in-depth analysis of business models, company moats, management quality, and financial performance. She has managed portfolios at JP Morgan Asset Management, including the JP Morgan Taiwan Fund (Lux) and the National Pension Mandate from the Bureau of Labour Fund.

Joelian was the second highest ranked Taiwan strategist in the 2014 II survey and has advised Nan Shan’s CIO and senior management on equity market outlook and portfolio strategy. She has held senior roles in equity research and investment across several prestigious institutions, enhancing her deep expertise in the field.

Vera Lin serves as the Senior Vice President for Business Development and Strategy, where she shines in managing investor relations and driving bold strategic growth initiatives. Her expertise elevates the firm’s client-focused investment strategies and business expansion, drawing on a deep grasp understanding of industry best practices and nuances of client’s individual needs to deliver exceptional results.

With over 20 years of dynamic experience in banking, marketing, and corporate client services, Vera has held key roles including such as an IR manager for a public semiconductor company, and later Vice President at Payden & Rygel. She has masterfully served major accounts including a  telecommunications semiconductor giants, influential government agencies, and high-net-worth individuals, leveraging her profound insights into client objectives to build lasting partnerships and achieve outstanding outcomes.

Vera holds a Bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan University and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Boston University. She is also a CFA charter holder. Her educational foundation bolsters her exceptional communication skills and cultivates a client-centric service approach that consistently prioritizes satisfaction and success.
